Publication of White Paper heralds overhaul of Maltese gaming laws

The Malta Gaming Authority (‘MGA’) has now published its White Paper outlining its proposed changes to the country’s regulatory framework for gaming; the reforms put forward represent a significant overhaul of the legal framework, and are split across numerous areas including changes to Malta’s licensing process and taxation. A new Gaming Act will replace various other laws relating to gaming, too. Dr Christopher Dalli and Dr Kristina Mulligan of Gonzi & Associates, Advocates, discuss the proposed overhaul and how industry might react.
