On 7 June 2018, in Slovakia, the Bratislava Regional Court annulled the generally binding legal act issued by the City Council of Bratislava, banning gambling games within the territory of the city of Bratislava. The act was adopted by the City Council of Bratislava on 30 March 2017 and came into effect on 1 May 2017. As a result of the law, the municipality of Bratislava had stopped issuing licences for any new gambling houses/gambling rooms within its jurisdiction.
